List your top three approaches for finding your customers and explain why you have selected these.

When looking for a new or fresh customer pool for your business there are tons of things you can do to try and increase foot traffic. The three I would like to focus on include the use of social media for networking, your websites existing marketing tools for advertising, and forming alliances with other local businesses in the shooting sports field and offering services in return for customers.

Most of us already use social media as a networking tool in our own personal lives and have a good idea already as to how it works. Creating social media accounts for your business with your contact information or business location is a good start because the person who finds your social media account but has no way to get in touch with you will likely move on to another person for the work they need done. And of course, nowadays you can pay the social media sites a sum of money to advertise your business to your specified target audience.

Next, we have your website and its existing marketing tools for advertising. Speaking from experience, work on an easy to navigate site that is both informative and useful to the consumer before you start marketing it and your business. Jumping into advertising and getting people to navigate to your businesses website that is under construction or just one page with little to no real content is a quick way to have your potential customers ignore you in the future. Once your site is in good working order then start looking into the marketing tools it offers. By adding things like a subscriber sign up you may begin to land people who have an interest, and you can begin using email marketing campaigns and weekly newsletters to be sure your business stays in their thoughts, and they come to you for business.

Finally, creating a relationship with other businesses in your area can be difficult, especially if they offer some of the same goods and services as you do. Introducing yourself and your business to local companies can open a line of communication and this could result in more business or at least a better insight to your local shooting sports market. If you specialize in restoration work and another local company keeps a focus on newer custom build type work, then when they have a customer asking for restoration work, they will reference you and if you get someone looking for a custom build you can reference them. Working together like this means better business relationships and more happy customers who found exactly what they needed.
